bKash limits and cash-out fees: a dated account guide

bKash payments, Send Money and cash out are different operations. Their limits and charges should not be mixed. This independent guide uses the provider’s published ordinary-account information checked on 23 October 2026 and distinguishes a general tariff from a temporary remittance campaign.

Identify the operation before calculating a charge

A merchant payment buys goods or services; Send Money transfers to another account; cash out withdraws money through an authorised channel. At an agent, use the cash-out function rather than transferring to the agent’s personal number. The provider’s security guidance explicitly makes that distinction. Check the recipient or agent identity in your own application, and keep control of the phone while authorising. A verbal statement that the transaction is free does not replace the fee and amount shown by the service.

Ordinary agent and Priyo Agent prices

The official agent cash-out page lists BDT 18.50 per 1,000 for ordinary agent withdrawals and BDT 13.95 per 1,000 through up to two selected Priyo Agents within a BDT 50,000 calendar-month allowance. These are channel and eligibility conditions, not an unconditional rate for every withdrawal. The page says a transaction that crosses the Priyo allowance is charged at the higher rate for that transaction. Check the remaining allowance before confirming. Do not substitute a time-limited remittance promotion for this ordinary tariff.

Three actual provider limits

Cash in from agent50,000300,000
Send Money50,000300,000

The provider’s limit table also states a maximum ordinary account balance of BDT 500,000, with separately described exceptions for certain incoming funds. A balance ceiling is not a daily withdrawal allowance. The cash-out daily and monthly figures combine agent and ATM use, so moving to another channel does not automatically create a second allowance. Transaction-count and per-transaction restrictions must also be checked.

Calculate the cost without hiding the allowance boundary

For an eligible BDT 10,000 Priyo withdrawal, the listed 13.95-per-thousand rate produces a BDT 139.50 charge. At the ordinary 18.50-per-thousand rate, the same principal produces BDT 185. These are arithmetic examples from the tariff, not a recommendation to withdraw. Confirm how much balance is needed for both the principal and charge. If the remaining discounted allowance is smaller than the planned transaction, the provider’s crossing rule matters; do not assume only the excess portion receives the higher rate. Keep the final confirmation and receipt.

Plan cash access and account capacity together

A withdrawal can fail even when the account balance is sufficient if a daily, monthly or count limit has been reached. The agent may also lack enough physical cash. Before travelling, check the remaining account allowance and ask the authorised outlet about availability without sharing a PIN. For a large payment to a merchant, consider whether the merchant accepts a proper payment transaction rather than converting everything into cash; compare the actual disclosed costs and your needs. This is an operational comparison, not a reason to send money to an unverified personal account.

Keep evidence when the amount or cash is disputed

Check the account before and after the transaction. If money is debited but cash is not handed over, retain the transaction ID, time, amount and agent identification, and contact the provider through its official support. The bKash complaint cell is a documented escalation channel. Do not settle the issue by disclosing a secret code to a caller or making an unrelated second transfer. A clear factual record helps distinguish a tariff dispute, a mistaken recipient and a service failure.

bKash cash-out checklist

  • Select cash out rather than personal Send Money at an agent.
  • Confirm whether the agent is registered as Priyo.
  • Check the remaining calendar-month allowance.
  • Read the fee, principal and total debit.
  • Include prior ATM withdrawals in the combined limit.
  • Keep the receipt and official complaint reference if needed.

The provider can revise limits and tariffs. A dated record should therefore retain the channel, account type and source used for each comparison. A screenshot of an old rate may explain a past charge but does not establish the rate for a future withdrawal.

An allowance-boundary example

Suppose the remaining Priyo allowance is smaller than the withdrawal you intend to make. Read the provider’s crossing rule before proceeding: the higher rate can apply to that entire transaction. Do not estimate the charge by splitting the principal into an imagined discounted part and ordinary part. The final service display should resolve the amount you are authorising. Keep that display or receipt with the transaction reference if the later debit needs to be checked.

Frequently asked questions

Does every agent cash-out cost BDT 13.95 per 1,000?

No. The provider attaches that rate to selected Priyo Agents and a BDT 50,000 calendar-month allowance. Ordinary agent cash out is listed at BDT 18.50 per 1,000.

Can I double the limit by using an agent and an ATM?

No. The published BDT 30,000 daily and BDT 200,000 monthly cash-out limits combine those channels.

Should I use Send Money to the agent’s personal account?

No. The provider’s security guidance says to use the cash-out function for an agent withdrawal and retain the transaction record.
